Bow Visor:
A bow visor is a large, hinged cover mounted at the bow (front) of a ship, commonly found on Ro-Ro vessels and ferries. Its main function is to protect the bow ramp or entrance door and to ensure watertight integrity against sea conditions. During loading or unloading operations, the bow visor opens upward, allowing vehicles or cargo to enter or exit the vessel.

Structurally, the bow visor is very strong, as it acts as an integral part of the ship's bow when closed and must withstand external forces such as waves and wind. It is typically operated by hydraulic cylinders. Safety is enhanced through watertight seals, locking mechanisms, and emergency systems. The design and functionality of the bow visor are critical for the vessel’s operational and navigational safety.
