Hoistable Car Deck:
A hoistable car deck is a movable deck system used on ships, particularly to increase vehicle carrying capacity. The height of the deck can be adjusted depending on the type of vehicles being transported (such as cars, trucks, or trailers). For example, if smaller vehicles are being loaded, the intermediate deck can be lowered to create two levels of loading. If larger vehicles are being transported, the deck can be raised to provide greater height clearance on the lower deck.

Hoistable car decks are typically operated using hydraulic cylinders, chain systems, or wire ropes. They have high load-carrying capacities and are secured with locking mechanisms and structural supports for safety. This system provides operational flexibility and is widely used on Ro-Ro and Ro-Pax vessels.
